Last updated: October 27, 2026. Second Half, San Marcos, California.
We keep this short and plain. Here's what we collect, why, who sees it, and how to get it changed or deleted.
What we collect when you join the waitlist
- Your first name and email. Required, so we can save your spot and contact you about it.
- Your mobile number, only if you give it. Used for your Rookie Day reminder, weather calls and, if you agree, news and offers by text.
- Your ZIP code, so we know where people are coming from and where to open next.
- Your level guess (Rookie, Varsity or Not sure), so we can plan sessions.
- Whether you're interested in a founding membership, if you tick that box. It doesn't commit you to anything.
- Whether you ticked the marketing box, plus the exact wording you agreed to and the time you agreed.
- Campaign information from the link you clicked (for example, which ad or post brought you here: utm source, medium, campaign, content and term), the page you landed on, and the website that referred you. This tells us which ads and posts work.
We don't ask for your age, your health or your payment details on the waitlist.
When you become a member and play
Once booking opens in our app, we also collect:
- Account details: your full name, email, mobile number, date of birth and an emergency contact.
- Health questions and your signed waiver: your answers to a few safety questions before your first session, and your electronic signature.
- Bookings and attendance: the sessions you book, attend, cancel or miss, your level, and your waitlist activity.
- Payments: handled by Stripe on Stripe's secure checkout. We receive your name, the last four digits of your card, and payment status, but never your full card number.
- Video, photos and stats: sessions may be recorded by a camera on the sideline, and players wear numbered pinnies so we can match plays to players. We use this to create stats and highlights.
- What you post in the app, such as comments, photos, nickname votes and session ratings.
How we use it
- To save your spot and tell you about Rookie Day booking, opening day and your sessions.
- To run your membership: bookings, check-in, billing, reminders, weather calls and customer support.
- To keep sessions safe: levels, health questions, emergency contacts and incident reports.
- To create stats and highlights for you and your crew.
- To plan sessions, levels and locations.
- To understand which ads, posts and partners bring people to Second Half.
- To send you news and offers, only if you ticked the marketing box.
Marketing consent and how to opt out
The marketing checkbox on the sign-up form is separate, optional and unticked to start. You can join the waitlist without it.
- Email: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- Text: reply STOP to any text from us. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- Anything else: email [email protected] and we'll take care of it.
Opting out of marketing doesn't remove you from the waitlist or your membership. We may still send messages you need about your spot, bookings or account.
What other members see
Second Half is a team sport, so some information is shared with the people you play with:
- Other members can see your first name and last initial, nickname, level, profile photo (if you add one), stats, Game Balls and anything you post in the app.
- Coaches and staff also see what they need to run a session safely: your full name, check-in status, waiver status, emergency contact and any safety notes you've shared.
- Highlights and photos from sessions are shared with members in the app. We use them in public marketing only if you've given permission.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with services that help us run Second Half, under their own privacy and security terms:
- Cloudflare hosts this website and the waitlist database.
- Stripe handles membership and drop-in payments.
- Our email and text-messaging providers send our emails and texts.
- Our app hosting and database provider stores member accounts and bookings.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our members, staff or the public.
Combined, anonymous information
We may combine information into totals that don't identify anyone (for example, "most members play twice a week" or "40% of members are parents") and share those totals with partners or sponsors. We don't try to re-identify anyone from them.
If Second Half is sold
If Second Half is reorganized, merged or sold, member information may transfer to the new owner, who must follow this policy or tell you about any changes.
Cookies and tracking
Today this site doesn't use advertising pixels. It saves the campaign information from your link in your own browser so the sign-up form can include it. If we ever add advertising pixels or similar tools, we'll update this policy first.
How long we keep it
We keep your information as long as you're on the waitlist or a member, and afterward only as long as we need it for legal, tax, safety or dispute reasons. Signed waivers and incident reports are kept as long as we may need them for insurance or legal claims. Ask us to delete your information any time, and we'll delete what we're not required to keep.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards, such as encrypted connections, limited staff access and trusted providers, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we'll let you know if a breach affects your information, as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email [email protected] from the address you signed up with.
Kids
Second Half is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Bring Your Kid sessions for teens with a parent are planned for spring 2027 and will have their own sign-up and parent consent.
